32 week ultrasound

Last week when my mom was visiting, I had the opportunity for both future Grandmas to see Kent again. Future Grandma Paula used her ultrasound machine to take another peek at the little guy. Actually, he isn't so little anymore! His whole body used to fit into the entire monitor at one time, now only parts of his body can be seen.

Here is a profile shot of his head. Can you see his nose, lips, & hand up by his chin?

I think this is an arm, but it might be a leg....kind of hard for me to remember what was being measured. Regardless, isn't it cute?

Here is another profile shot, you can see his shoulder a little better in this picture. Kent is really growing!

Here is a face shot of Kent. He did look at all of us. I know we are ready to see him in person instead of in black & white!

Here is a cute little foot/leg picture.
Paula told me that as my due date gets closer, the images won't be as good since my uterus is "getting old" with this baby. We may try again, but are anxiously waiting for the real Kent himself!
One more thing...after all of the measurements, Paula calculated that Kent weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces last week! I have about 5-7 weeks left, so he should be a healthy size. (I hope not too big!)

Kent's Nursery

Kent's sesame street nursery is pretty much good to go for now until he arrives. My mom was a great help at getting the finishing touches done with it last week when she was here.

These pics show the finished product, which I'm happy with. This is a view from the hallway as you walk into his room. The nursery is directly across the hall from our bedroom, so it will be convenient to get to him in the middle of the night.

A view of the changing table area. The wall hanging matches the border perfectly & is from Kyle's cousin in Alabama. She used it in her son's room a few years ago.

The crib, which we got from some friends at church who are done having kids. I was pleased with how good of shape it is in for being used by 2 kids already. Hopefully Kent will keep it looking this nice! Bought the sesame street baby bedding on clearance online.

Another view of the changing area. We will need to figure out how to use the diaper champ & wipe warmer before Kent arrives! These are gadgets that friends have said are helpful, but I can say I'm challenged by them at the moment. I'm sure it will get easier to use them with daily use (multiple, multiple times per day)!

A sign my mom made & gave me for a shower gift. Very cute touch to his sesame street room!
Before my mom visited, I can say I was feeling a bit overwhelmed at trying to get stuff done. It's just not as easy to move around as it used to be. I also am still working 5 days/week and have been gone several weekends in March/April, which contributed to the overwhelmed feeling. NOw, thankfully, we are pretty much here in town until Kent arrives. Thanks so much, mom! Love you!
Kyle & I are enjoying time together right now, as we know that things will change when Kent joins our family. We are so excited about his arrival! Please keep praying for a healthy delivery.
I'm 33 weeks right now, so another 5-6 weeks sounds good to me for delivery. We'll just see when God decides the time is right. Thanks for all of your continued prayers for us!

North Davis Church Baby Shower

This past Sunday afternoon was my baby shower with friends from our church. My mom was able to fly down from Ohio to be a part of it as well.

For more pics, checkout the album on facebook. Blogger takes way too long to upload every picture that I take. These are just a few of the highlights of the shower.

The cake was really good & was too pretty to eat. However, we did dig in & it was delicious!

Several of my friends from church helped hostess the shower: Miranda, Amy, Tamara, Kim, me, Mandy, Carey, Lacey, & Meghan. Thanks also to Sheryl & Karen for hostessing....they aren't pictured.

One of the hostesses made these cute sashes for myself, my mom, my mother-in-law, & Kyle's grandmother to wear. They said "future mom", "future grandma", and "future great-grandma" on them. Kind of fun! We felt like we were on Miss America!

Future Aunt Amanda also came to this shower. She is excited to start spoiling baby Kent!

Even my good friend from growing up, Lisa, was able to travel from Austin for the day to come to the baby shower.
I had a lot of fun, and am very excited about Kent's arrival after receiving such nice baby things, at all of my baby showers. Thanks for your help, everyone!

Kyle's 29th birthday!

Kyle celebrated his 29th birthday last weekend. Unlike most people, Kyle is actually looking forward to turning 30 next year. It must be a guy thing...

Anyway, we had his family over to celebrate for lunch on Sunday.

Amanda & my preggo self posing for a pic.

Kyle requested a Mexican feast for his birthday dinner. He made a huge plate of homemade nachos, which he still claims are the best nachos he has eaten in a while. Glad I could satisfy his taste buds with this high fat, high calorie birthday meal! Guess it's ok if your birthday is only once a year, right?

Everyone enjoying the birthday meal. Grandmother & Granddad Herd aren't big Mexican food eaters, but were good sports at tasting all of the Mexican food.

For dessert, we had brownies with homemade ice cream! Yum yum! Happy b-day Kyle! Now we all need to workout after eating this yummy meal!

Lisa Loo's Wedding Shower in Austin, TX

My best friend is getting married! Lisa met Ryan in an amazing way this past year. Needless to say, one thing led to another, and now they are getting married in June.

With baby Kent's due date scheduled at 6/26/09, I'm unfortunately not going to be able to go to Lisa's wedding in Knoxville, TN on 6/20/09. :(

However, the blessing in all of this is that Lisa has recently moved to Austin, TX! When we were in youth group together in Ohio, we always said it would be cool to be next door neighbors someday. With Lisa

moving to Texas, we are getting closer to this happening. Austin is about 3 hours from Arlington, which is much closer than where she was living in Washington D.C.

Her wedding shower was in Austin last weekend. Lisa's mom flew down from Ohio to share in the excitement. It was a really fun day!

Here is the invite for the shower. It was at a beautiful home out in the middle of nowhere near Austin. The food was delicious, with the hostesses making special diabetic-friendly food for Lisa to enjoy.

Men were also invited to the shower, so Ryan & Lisa were able to enjoy opening their gifts together. They are so excited about their upcoming marriage and life together!
And I'm excited for them! Lisa Loo, I love ya & will be praying for you as you prepare for your upcoming marriage to Ryan. God bless!
