Mom & Dad in town....

Mom & dad came to visit us from Ohio this past weekend. The last time they saw us was over Thanksgiving, which was when we announced we were pregnant (at 8-9 weeks). Needless to say, I looked a little different this time!

They flew in on Friday afternoon. On Friday night we enjoyed dinner at Hoffbrau Steak in the Arlington Highlands. (very yummy....I highly recommend it!) We then looked around Cosco because my parents aren't members (they live in Sams territory), then had frozen yogurt at Pure Bliss. It's one of my favorite places of the moment. The place is a self-serve frozen yogurt with a huge topping bar. You pay for the yogurt by weight. It is all nonfat. The best part are the free samples to figure out what flavor you actually want to buy. Try this place out if you live in Arlington & love frozen yogurt....you can't go wrong with the cappucino or peanut butter flavors, in my opinion!

On Saturday morning we had a yummy breakfast at our house with my parents, Kyle's parents, Kyle's Aunt Kay, Brett & Amanda. We enjoyed breakfast casserole, butterscotch sticky rolls, & fresh fruit.

After breakfast we played a game to officially announce our baby boy's name to our parents, who we wanted to be the first to know.
Kyle was creative & made a version of Wheel of Fortune, calling the game "Wheel of Baby Name." Everyone around the table could guess a letter in the name & when they got one right, they could guess a name.
The name they discovered that will be our boy's name is Kent Matthew Rhodes. He will have the same initials and middle name as Kyle. Plus, Kyle & I are fans of Superman & Smallville, which can't be bad
to use the name Kent.
AFter the baby name breakfast, we all traveled to Paula's office where she did an ultrasound on me so that my parents could experience baby Kent in action. We were cramped in Paula's office, but had lots of fun.
Saturday afternoon Kyle & my dad went to see the Pink Panther 2. My mom & I hit Babies R' Us. We were at that store for 4 hours! I needed to take time to look through everything available to figure out what to register for soon. We had fun, but were exhausted by the end of being in
babyland.
On Sunday my parents enjoyed worshipping with us at church. We then were treated to lunch with Billy & Grandmother Rhodes at a local country club that is open to the public for lunches on Sundays. Very yummy!
The rest of the day we relaxed & enjoyed visiting. We watched the movie Eagle Eye together on Sunday night, then it was time for bed.
My parents left for Ohio on Monday morning. We had a great visit and are thankful they could come to see us. We are going to Ohio next month to see them & for a baby shower. Fun times ahead!
Be on the lookout for some more ultrasound videos/pics in a future post shortly.
