American Idol is Over-Rated...

No, I have not been rejected from American Idol. I haven't even had the desire to audition for this show. Yes, I enjoy watching it. But to actually be a contestant? No way!

For those of you who don't know, the American Idol auditions for the new season are taking place today & tomorrow. The only reason I found out was because during my morning ritual of watching the traffic report, the traffic lady mentioned more traffic around Texas stadium today due to American Idol auditions. I go by Texas stadium everyday, so this was important for me to know about.

After I heard this annoucement, I thought "oh great. I'm going to end up being late to work because a bunch of crazy "I want to be the next Carrie Underwood" people will be on the road tying up traffic for those of us who actually have real jobs and need to make it to work on time.

But, this did not happen. When I drove by Texas stadium both to and from work today, there were tons of cars all around the stadium, but nothing like it is for a Cowboys game.

So, my conclusion is that American Idol is overrated. They make it look like a LOT more people are there on TV than there really are in person. (maybe y'all already knew this, but not me).

And, I am so thankful that traffic wasn't any worse than usual today. :)
