The 1st Week at Home...

It's hard to believe that just last Friday we were being discharged from the hospital with our little Kent. Time really has flown by this past week, even though I really can't tell you exactly what I've been doing every moment of every day. It is true that a lot of what you do in a day just kind of runs together in a blur. I'm sleep deprived most of the time, but am enjoying every moment.

Mom & Kristen have been a great help to me this past week, pitching in with everything from diaper changes, to cooking, to laundry, to calming down an upset baby with gas. Dad, we can't wait for you to meet your new grandson when you come to visit us next week!

As for the progress Kent has made, he is functioning now on a 3 hour feeding schedule during the day, and can now go from about 10pm-3am at night without waking. Thanks so much for the Babywise book, Amy! It has been a lifesaver & a great guide to go by to get Kent into some type of functioning routine.

Breastfeeding has been more challenging than I thought. It turns out that Kent was such a good nurser in the hospital with the colostrum that my milk started to come in last Saturday. I then had to suffer through a severe engorgement period for several days....I'm still in the process of recovery at the moment. Won't go into any more details here. If you are interested, we'll talk later. But things are definitely getting better. Here is a pic of the "drunk" look that Kent gets on his face after finishing a feeding.

Here is a pic of Kristen with her 1st and favorite new nephew!

Kent also has adjusted to his bath & doesn't get as upset when we bath him, thanks to this towel bath cover thing. Isn't he cute?

We are all ready for Buckeye season!

Such a sweet baby boy!

Mama & baby Kent. This chair from IKEA has been a great nursing chair.
