The Lizards are back!

Our house has a very unique quality this time of the year....an invasion of gecko lizards. Last year we moved in at the end of June, and the lizards were pretty much in the house the rest of the summer until it got cold in the fall. Usually they are just teeny tiny baby lizards that can fit in under the baseboards. I have trained Pepper the dog to attack & kill these baby lizards, which he glady does whenever I say "lizard."

Well, I think the lizards are getting smarter because they know there is an attack dog in the house. The other night I looked up and there was a lizard on the ceiling in the living room! It really freaked me out (I know they don't bite or anything, but they don't belong inside my house!). I yelled for Kyle, who had to get up on a chair to grab it with a paper towel. He wasn't fast enough at first, because the lizard ran along the ceiling into our entryway. Finally, Kyle smashed it & the lizard episode was over for the time being. Whew!

Here is a pic of what the lizard looked like when I spotted him from the couch. Eeew! Yuck!
This probably won't be the last of the summer lizards. I think I will start to count how many we kill while I'm home this summer on maternity leave for amusement.
I guess I should focus on the positive....it could be termites, cockroaches, or something worse. Maybe I should invent some type of lizard killer. Any ideas of the chemicals that need mixed together to kill lizards or at least keep them out of your house?

Maybe we could get your lizards and our lizards together for a playdate. Kinda hate to kill them off. They eat bugs.
