10-11 week old cutie!

It's hard to believe that Kent turned 11 weeks old yesterday! Man has this summer gone fast. It's also hard to believe that I'll be going back to work in less than a week. I'm praying that my dietitian brain will kick into gear, that I have forgotten everything I know.

As for some Kent updates, at his 2 month check-up last week, he was 13 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 25 inches long....a BIG boy! His reflux is managable, but some days are still better than others when it comes to eating. The biggest headache that we are dealing with is that the daycare we are putting him in won't put babies to sleep on their stomachs unless they have a doctor's note. Well, Kent's pediatrician wouldn't write a note. So I tried putting Kent on his back for his naps 1 day last week. Let's just say, it didn't go well....he didn't get any naps the entire day and would scream the entire time he was on his back. So I've switched back to his stomach & decided to let the daycare deal with this problem. I have a feeling that they may need to make an exception to this ridiculous rule. (I know, I know....sleeping on the back is supposed to be safer, prevent SIDS. But I think you have to consider the whole baby...and Kent is a BIG boy who holds up his head well.....I think his risk of suffocating himself is considerably lower). Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox about that.

So most days this week I'm just enjoying every moment with my little boy. After 11 weeks, I am definitely in love with him. I can see how moms grow more in love with their kids the longer they have kids. Being a mom is so wonderful & is one of God's greatest blessings. That little smile that he gives me when he wakes up in the morning, even when I am tired and want to keep sleeping, is well worth waking up for.

Last week Kent & I went to lunch at a friend Staci's house with Grandma Paula. Staci's boys, Brody & Barrett, loved watching Kent. I have a lot to learn about motherhood, and can tell Staci will be a great help when I'm stumped about something. Staci, thanks so much for the help you have already been!

I also had to capture a picture of what Kent looks like (the fascinated look) when he watches a Baby Einstein DVD. I told myself that I wouldn't be this mother (and most days I don't put him in front of the TV), but on this particular day last week when he was really fussy, I stuck him in his bouncy seat, and turned on the Lullaby Time Baby Einstein. Immediately, he got calm & was fixated on the TV.

I love this picture of Kent in his "cool dude" shades. Such a sweetie!

This outfit is from Kent's Aunt Kristen. It's a 3-6 month outfit, so my boy is growing fast....so fast that some outfits he is only wearing once or twice before he outgrows them!
Please keep us in your prayers as we make the transition of me going back to work & Kent going to daycare this coming week. It isn't going to be easy, and I pray not to have to work full-time forever. But in the present circumstance, I'm thankful for the job I have, for the daycare that is right on site at the hospital for me to see my little boy whenever I want during the day.
Kyle is continuing to stay busy with his business, is getting closer to having his website up & ready. God is good, is continuing to provide for us in His own way & time. Thanks for all of your prayers & support.
