This past weekend I was blessed with the opportunity to attend the Women of Faith conference in Dallas. For those of you who have never gone, make it a point to go to one near where you live. This conference travels to 30 cities a year, so chances are there is one close to you. Check out the website for more info:
www.womenoffaith.comI know that the price may seem kind of steep, but I promise it is well worth the money (and I'm a pretty cheap person)!

The thing I like about Women of Faith is that it is a Christian women's conference, with women there from all denominations. It is a conference that brings unity, which to me is amazing. There were over 16,000 women at the Dallas conference all together praising the same God. In a way, I got a glimpse of what heaven is going to be like (except there will also be men in heaven)! I love how everyone can lift up voices united, singing & praising the God of the Universe.
The speakers at this conference are women (unless there is a guest speaker who is a man) who have amazing stories & testimonies of how their faith has been tested & tried over time. They all have so much wisdom, and many of them are an example to me of how I want to live my life. Many of the speakers are women in their 60s/70s, who continue to have as much energy as I do. It is evident by their stories that they all love to live life to the fullest, and know where true joy & meaning in life comes from....in relationships.

Here is a picture of the Women of Faith worship team during Friday's pre-conference. I would absolutely LOVE to sing on the worship team someday, but doubt that this dream will ever come true. It is also a huge time commitment...being gone 30 weekends a year? No thank you! At least, not at this point in my life. I'll stick to the praise team at church for now.

My friends from church Mandy & Shannon enjoying the conference. It was awesome for me to get to know some of the women from North Davis even better after hanging out together this past weekend.

Tasha and Allison enjoying the conference. Tasha was so much fun to watch...she had some "soul" to her worship!

Mandisa, one of the singers on American Idol, performed a concert at Women of Faith and gave a brief part of her testimony/story. She has an amazing voice and sounds even better in person!

Patsy Clairmont is my absolutel favorite speaker of the original "Women of Faith." She is in her upper 70s, and is a little firecracker when she speaks. She has so much energy, joy in life, and love for the Lord. She is a true inspiration to me.

A guest speaker at this year's conference was the CEO of World Vision. I can't remember his name at the moment, but he gave his testimony, which is amazing. He used to be an atheist, and his wife converted him to Christianity. He attended an Ivy league college and went to business school, climbing the corporate ladder. He used to be the CEO of Parker Brothers toys, and then Lenox china. Now he is the CEO of World Vision. Just another example of how God can use someone for His greater glory!

Another picture of the CEO for World Vision. If you would like to learn more about what World Vision is or how to sponsor a child, go to this website:

This man told us at the conference that approximately 26,000 children die everyday from hunger. That's way too many....sponsoring really does make a difference.
So have I sold some of y'all on going to Women of Faith? I hope so! Don't let having a baby be an excuse for not going. This conference honestly thought of everything....there was even a nursing mother's room where I could go & pump. Yep, I pumped several times while I was there, along with about 10 other moms. We called ourselves the "pump club." My wonderful hubby and mother-in-law Paula were awesome to take the responsibility to take care of baby Kent while I was away. I missed the little guy, but am so thankful to have had this time to get energized & renewed.

Now I wished I would have gone. But wait...then I wouldn't have been able to keep Kent. Forget it. I'll go another year.
Sounds awesome. Let me know next time you hear of one close by.
