Almost 1 month old...

Ok, so I'm frantically trying to get this blog post up & done before Kent wakes up ready to eat. I hear him waking up, so I better hurry!

It's hard to believe that little Kent is almost 4 weeks old tomorrow. In some ways, the time has flown by. In other ways, the time has gone so slow. I am trying in the midst this new adventure to treat every moment as a blessing. God has blessed us so much through the life of little Kent. As you can tell from the pictures, he looks less like a newborn & more like a baby now.

Here is a picture of Kent with his 1st pair of shoes (blue sandles) on. The outfit is from Aunt Amanda & Uncle Brett. I put him this cute outfit on Saturday night for Billy & Paula, who were awesome babysitters for us while we went to a friends house for dinner.

Here is a picture of Kent & I on Saturday night. Kent in his cute outfit, me in normal clothes with makeup on. I loved getting ready & going out with Kyle to be around other adults for an evening. It was great!

Here is a picture of Kent & I on our 1st Sunday as a family going to church. We did make it to church when my mom & sister were here a few weeks ago, but this was our 1st Sunday to do the morning routine, etc on our own. We had success, for the most part! Kent was wearing a cute overall outfit at church.

Daddy Kyle setup a playmat aquarium gym for Kent last night. Kent was pretty fussy, so he didn't enjoy his first moments in the gym. I can tell that he will slowly start playing with it more over the next weeks/months.

Kent enjoys laying on his daddy's belly. Won't it be fun in the future when he will want Kyle to lay on the floor & wrestle, play superman, etc?
Kent is more on a routine this week with his eating schedule. The most frustrating thing for me is when he won't eat because he either is too tired where I am forcing him to wake up to eat, or when he has such bad gas or reflux that he is hungry but too upset/uncomfortable to eat. We are slowly trying to work through these issues.
I have also enjoyed taking Kent to the mall a couple mornings each week to walk in his stroller. It's too hot outside here in Texas to do much walking around the neighborhood right now. Most mornings even early in the morning are well above 90 degrees and really humid. So we are staying inside for the most part. If I do want to be outside, it's at Billy & Paula's pool where I can keep Kent inside to sleep while I have the baby monitor by the pool. So far I haven't made it to the pool as often as I thought I would. I seem to value extra sleep more than getting a tan these days. Maybe when Kent starts sleeping more through the night I'll be able to come to the pool more. We'll see.
I thank God for the blessing of Kent everyday. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers as we continue to adjust to this new life together. God bless!
