We celebrated Amanda's birthday this past Sunday for lunch at her mom Sandy's house. Sandy made one of Amanda's favorite meals for the occasion, roast. Here is a picture of Amanda taste testing the roast beef. Amanda did do something funny....she put salad dressing on her roast beef instead of the gravy! The salad dressing & gravy were both about the same color, so she didn't know the difference. While she was taste testing the roast beef, she got a funny look on her face & said it tasted different than usual. Well, Sandy soon noticed that Amanda had used salad dressing instead! We all got a good laugh out of her mistake. Needless to say, Amanda would NOT suggest using salad dressing on your roast beef in place of gravy.

Grandmother & Granddad Herd were also present to enjoy the birthday party. I like this picture of them. :)

Enjoying dessert...a swedish apple pie, which is another of Amanda's favorites. Paula, you should put this recipe on your website. :)

Brett relaxing & enjoying dessert.

Kyle & Amanda's grandmother Dortha, who ended up falling asleep on the couch for most of the birthday party. The rest of us had the same idea and went home & took a Sunday afternoon nap after such a delicious meal!

Granddad Herd & Amanda's dad Bob enjoying dessert.

The birthday girl & I. Isn't she cute?

The birthday girl holding her favorite nephew Kent. This was Kent's first family birthday party, and was definitely the center of attention right behind the birthday girl.

Grandmother Herd enjoyed holding Kent. She got a treat....he smiled several times really big for her! Unfortunately, Kent was too fast at smiling for me to capture this on camera. But I'm glad he gave her a sweet "I love you great-grandmother" smile. :)

Sandy taking her turn at holding baby Kent. She is going to watch him for us while Kyle & I go out to dinner this coming weekend to celebrate Brett & Amanda's anniversary. I'm thankful that she is willing to help us out in this way.
Happy birthday, Amanda! We are so thankful you were born and are a part of the Rhodes family!

Thanks for making the gravy mistake for us first, Amanda or somebody else would surely have done the same thing.
