Rearranging....

What does a new mom, who usually works Monday-Friday with only weekends available for her spare time, decide to do when she is at home on maternity leave watching HGTV? Rearrange furniture, of course! About a week or so ago, I decided to change up the living room. The room is pretty large, and kind of a challenge to rearrange due to size and the location of the doorways.

I don't know if these pictures will give you a realistic picture of what the new arrangement is like or not, but Kyle & I like it much better. Yes, I did have to get Kyle involved in the whole rearranging process. You see, the couch is way to heavy for me to scoot on my own. And, since we moved the TV, Kyle had to climb up in the rafters of the attic (which is pretty dangerous) to move the cable connection. So it was pretty involved. I'm so thankful for the help of a wonderful husband. Otherwise the furniture would still be in the same old boring arrangement.

This picture is a view from the kitchen.

Here is a view from the back door.

Here is a view from the hallway that leads to the bedrooms. I did move the picture collage, and will be putting some professional portraits that I ordered of Kent in the empty frames. I also thought that this area would be a good play area as Kent gets older. We may need to eventually purchase something to put his toys in to keep the place looking nice.

Here is a picture from the front door looking into the living room. THis is my least favorite view of all, as the back of the couch isn't that pretty. I'm kind of stuck not putting anything behind the couch because the couch reclines. So a sofa table would have to stick out pretty far behind the couch, which just looked stupid when we tried one there. Even though this isn't my favorite view, I love the room after you are actually sitting in our more cozy "sitting area."

A view of the wall that used to have the collage frame. Notice the new portrait of Kent that I ordered. Yes, I took that picture. :)
Now I'm on to the project of cleaning out the exercise room/office. Pictures of it aren't really that exciting. We mainly just are cleaning through junk, which feels good. I'm glad to have some extra time to work through these home projects in bits & pieces when Kent is sleeping.
As for Kent, it seems that he is slowly eating better. Right now he is doing better eating breastmilk pumped into a bottle, which I'm not crazy about, but he is eating. He is slowly starting to nurse better. I'm hoping that the medicine will continue to work & do the trick. Kent is also sleeping longer at night. Right now he wakes up around 2-3am, but I don't feed him because last week when I did he wasn't interested and would fall straight back to sleep. So when he wakes in the middle of the night we just reposition him in bed, put his pacifier in his mouth, and go back to bed. He then will usually sleep until 6-7am that way, which is awesome.
That's about all with us for the time being. Thanks for taking the time to keep up with the current road of life we are on.
